Planning is the key word for creating a successful video.
This is not difficult, but does require time and effort on your part before hiring Cherish Life’s Moments to create your unique video. Here are some steps you can follow to insure a beautiful video production.
Determine how long you want your slideshow to be. The length of your slideshow will determine how many photos you choose to include.
Please Your Audience
If possible include some photos of the people who will be viewing the presentation. Everyone loves to see themselves light up on the big screen! It will make them feel a part your special event and keep their interest peaked to see who will be showing up next. In addition, include credits in the slide show when applicable, such as for weddings. Give credit to mothers, fathers, grandparents, brothers, sisters, friends, bridal party, and anyone else to whom credit is due.
Choosing and Organizing Your Photos
This is a very important step in the making of your video. Organize your photos in the order you would like them to appear in your video.
Choose Quality Photos
Try to choose photos that are clear and in good quality. We can use photos that are not in the greatest condition, but it may hinder the quality projected in the video. We can fix, enhance and correct your photos, to a certain extent, but the better quality we start with the better the finished product will be.
Gather & Organize Your Materials
Collect and organize the photos, slides and other materials you want in the slideshow.
We’ll do our best to include just about anything you want, regardless of the condition of the material, but please keep in mind that the better the quality of the photos and other materials you supply to us, the better the quality of the video will be. Remember that Cherish Life’s Moments performs only minor photo enhancement. If a photo is too badly damaged and we’re not able to use it, we’ll let you know beforehand.
Your Physical Materials – Non Digital Items
If you have loose photos, put them in the order you want them presented in the DVD and number them in case they somehow get out of sequence. Either mark the back of the photos very lightly using a pencil, or put a Post-It note on the back. Do NOT ever use a magic marker on the backs of photos! The marker can bleed through to the front of the photo and ruin it. Keep the photos together with a rubber band and put groups of photos in separate envelops. Using paper clips or binder clips without putting photos in envelopes is not generally a good idea. Often the clips fall off during shipping. And if the photos are not numbered, we will not know in what order they go. Also, clips can damage the photos if they are moved around during shipping.
Do’s and Don’t for sending us your physical photos:
DO
- Put the photos in the order you want them shown in the video
- Write the photo number on the back, in a corner, very lightly using a pencil or pen. DO NOT use a magic marker or felt-tip pen.
- For photos with captions, write the caption on a Post-It note and stick on the back of the photo, or on a separate sheet of paper
- Pack the photos carefully so that they stay in order. Use envelopes to keeps groups of photos separate
for that song.
DON’T
- Send us photos loose in an envelope or box and expect us to put them in order for you. Photos will be returned.
- NEVER, EVER, EVER use a magic marker, felt-tip pen or a highlighter to number your photos!!
- Use Scotch tape for anything!
- Tape the photos to a sheet of paper
- Use Post-It notes on the front of the photos (put only on the back)
- Use paper clips or binder clips to keep photos together; they almost always fall off
- If we receive photos that are very poorly organized or are taped to pieces of paper, additional charges may apply because of the extra work required to get everything in order or because if the additional time required for scanning.
Your Digital Photos
If your photos are digital, put them in the order you want by changing the file name of the photos to a number sequence. Most photo management software packages allow you to make a “batch” change to change the file names quickly. For example, files can be changed to the following: 001.jpg, 002.jpg, 003.jpg. If you have trouble re-naming the files, please let us know and we’ll help. Once they’re in the order you want, there are a couple ways to get the photos to us:
Upload Your Photos Directly On Our Site
Uploading your photos is very easy. Just follow the steps below.
Step 1 – Log Into your account on Cherish Life’s Moments
Step 2 – Once you are logged in this will take you to your account dashboard.
Step 3 – Click on The Orders Tab on the left hand side.
Step 4 – Then Find your order that you would like to upload your Photos, Videos, Music and Special Instructions.
Once you click on the upload button. You will see a photo upload box. This is for all of your photos for this order. Please once again that they are uploaded in the order that you would like them in the video. You can either select the select files button to find the files on your computer or you could also drop and drag the files directly on the page..
Once you have selected the file or dropped it into the page it will immediately upload and show you a thumbnail for that photo. At this point we will be notified and will review the quality of the upload. You will be notified when the photo has been approved.
On this page you will also find a video upload box for video. A Specialty instruction upload section also music upload boxes for the songs you have choosen to provide to us. If you stated in the walkthru that you would like us to purchase the song on your behalf – then there will not be an upload music box for that song.
Burn them to a flash/thumb drive, DVD or CD and send it to us.
If you’re not sure how to do that, give us a call or submit a help ticket and we’ll help. If you have printed materials like newspaper articles, certificates, invitations, vows, etc., indicate where they go in the slideshow by writing on a Post-It note which photos they go between (for example…”it goes between photo 012 and 013″).
Once you have all the materials, please do a final count of all the items. If you have videos, the total time of all video needs to be determined.
Video Footage
Video clips can be very powerful put with stills to create a bigger impact. If you choose to use video clips. Please either upload your footage or send us the footage. Please make sure that you tells us the exact spot of the clip you want to use. Like 02:00 – 02:30. For that 30 second clip. All clips should only be 10 to 30 seconds only.
Special Instructions
With all Videos if you have any special instructions please type or write them out and be very specific as this will save time in our production. All videos must have special instructions indicating the clips time in the video to use. If the instructions are unclear we will put the file on hold until we are able to reach you in which could slow down production times. These special instructions can be directly uploaded on the Cherish Life’s Moments site in your account.
Music
Music is a key factor in creating the right mood for your video. Music is included for each package up to a certain number of songs. The number of songs and photos you provide us, will determine the package best suited for your needs. That package will determine the quantity of each allowed. If you send us more songs than what is included in your package, we will put them in the video in the order you send them to us. Please let us know if you would like specific songs in a specific order in the video.
Check out our list of suggested songs. The songs are only suggestions. We don’t own any of the songs. We purchase music only from legal, legitimate internet sites. We can also use royalty-free music when available and appropriate. If you provide us with the music, we can accept and use only legally-purchased CDs or digital mp3’s. No home-burned music CDs or files will be accepted. All music you send us will be returned to you when the video is completed.
Copyright laws regarding music are tough and are enforced. Cherish Life’s Moments only obtains music legally and requires that customers do the same. Our videos are created for private use only. We send them to you with the understanding that they are not intended for resale, you will not charge a fee for people to view them, and they will not be used for any other purpose other than for the customers’ private use. It is not possible to copy our videos. Addition videos are available, but at an addition cost.

Confirm Material Receipt
When we receive your materials, we will e-mail or you to let you know the materials have arrived. When we receive digital files you will receive an email letting you know if the photo has been approved and accepted.
Production Time
From the date we receive your materials, it typically takes 7-10 business days to complete your order. That does not include shipping time. The completion time is dependent on the schedule of other orders in the queue, which package you want and the complexity of the order. Larger, more complex orders may take longer. If you need rush service, please let us know IN ADVANCE of placing the order. Additional charges apply for expedited orders.
